The new doctor pulled out all the stops to try to diagnose exactly what was wrong with me and to get rid of some of the pain I was still suffering with. I was given pain killing cortisone injections into my neck and shoulder at the pain clinic hospital. (I have since been given Botox injections into my neck, shoulder and trapezius. The Botox injections are nothing short of miraculous! After the Botox injections were administered, I suffered bruising feeling and found it very difficult to hold my head up, I felt like the muscles in my neck had been 'hit' and leaning forwards was impossible! But after about 9 or 10 days the Botox injections began to kick in. It is now 3 months since the Botox injections and I am still feeling relief and find my alternative medicine, the chiropractor can get on with his job and 'work' my body back into shape again.) I attended physiotherapy at the local hospital and after a few sessions was told that it was not helping me and I was to be referred on to hydrotherapy. The physiotherapist made a comment that played on my mind. He had said that he couldn't just click me back into place. I had been advised that a chiropractor could well offer relief to my problem, but I had not been able to afford this treatment before. I was now in a better position as I had began a new business with the help of a Government scheme aimed at helping people like myself get back their independence. My future was looking slightly brighter, so on that thought, I borrowed money from a friend and found a local chiropractor who offers dry needle acupuncture, massage and chiropractic as part of the service. The complete alternative healthcare! Michael Copland Griffiths has a very healing manner and makes me feel at ease (and not mad) the minute he smiles to welcome me. An hour was spent gathering my previous medical history and a physical check-up from top to toe. So far I have attended three chiropractic treatments and I'm having a cracking time! The nurse begins my treatment with a rather rough massage pushing all my out of place bits into place. Followed by some dry needle acupuncture into my neck and shoulder blade, then comes the chiropractor who checks on the position and prods my spine, ending with a sharp twist resulting in a rather shocking crack or two. Perhaps its nerves, but it always makes me laugh, and they do say laughter is the best medicine!
Well as I said, I have had only three treatments so far and have noticed a huge improvement in my posture. The pain had turned me into a scrunched up ball, attempting to 'get away' from the pain. At a usual 5'4'' I had been recently measured at 5'2''. The pain after each chiropractic treatment is still immense for a couple of days, but then I begin to 'come round', what I have noticed is that my eyes seem to be more open and I feel taller again! Friends have noticed a huge difference in me and my manner since beginning treatment with the chiropractor. I had turned from a loud, lively extrovert into a quiet grouch full of pain and whinging!
Now at last I feel confident of improvement in my condition. For the first time in almost 4 years I believe I can be relieved of my pain without swallowing large amounts of pain killers, with the help of a friend's loan and a chiropractor in Wiltshire followed by treatment by a McTimoney Chiropractor in Blandford Dorset and Glastonbury, Graham Morland Smith. For the best in alternative health care search for a chiropractor who uses dry needle acupuncture and massage to begin before administering the chiropractic treatment.
GLUCOSAMINE - CHONDROITIN - MSM
I have also found a miraculous alternative medicine. I am now supplementing my diet with a power pill! Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM. Recommended to me by Graham Morland-Smith, this alternative medicine has proven to help my pain immensely, it removes the dull warm throbbing pain I was still getting in my neck, allowing his chiropractic treatments to be even more powerful!
The medicine leaflet advises not to take the product if you are allergic to shellfish. I had never eaten fish especially
not shellfish! The first couple of times I took this medicine, I was a bit worried, but it didn't cause any allergic
reaction, I do find that it causes indigestion and sometimes a rather sick type burp, but considering the amount of
good work this magic pill performs, it's a very small price to pay! I don't intend to swallow an antidote for this sicky
feeling, I intend to get my body used to a different sort of vitamin supplement which contains
glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM!
